Setting Up a Blog Through Google Blogger

Setting up a blog through Google Blogger is rather simple. First you must have a Google account before you can continue. This is just whatever email you have set up with Google. Once you have that information you just simply go to www.blogger.com to sign in.

Once you have signed in you can choose to edit an existing blog, or create a new one by simply clicking the “New Blog” button located on the left side of the screen as shown here.

Upon clicking “New Blog” it will prompt you to choose a title for you blog, a web address, and a template. This can be whatever you so choose. Though the web address will be whateveryourblogis.blogspot.com.

After you have hit “Create blog!” it will bring you to an analytics page where you can view the times your blog has been viewed, post counts, follower information, and much more. From here you can click “New Post” to post or you can download a program I recommend called Open Live Writer. This is an editor that is very similar to working with Microsoft office. With the editor you can link your blog account to pull your blog’s theme so you can even see how it will appear once uploaded. You can find the link to that program here.

From this program you can save your blog posts locally to upload them to other blogs later, or to just have a back up. You can also publish directly to your blog after you have linked your accounts. You can do that by just simply clicking the “Publish” button on the toolbar.

I hope that you have enjoyed this simple little tutorial on how to set up a blog with google blogger. This is my first attempt at writing much of anything so hopefully it was decently clear. If you need any more information feel free to leave a comment and I’ll get back to you with a response.
